Economic entrepreneurship of women

Eugeniusz Niedzielski

Abstract

The study contains an analysis of size and conditions of running business by women. It also refers to the motives of starting own business. The analysis confirmed that although there is no “male” and “female” entrepreneurship, running own business by women is much more hampered by providing care for children, especially for the small ones, than in case of men. Regardless of gender, success of business prejudice personality and situational traits. Development of entrepreneurship, especially in case of women, is supported by changes (although slow) of values and attitudes, what results in altering the perception of social roles and reducing the mistrust for people starting and running own business.
